Kudzu grows wild in the South! It is arduously processed from this climbing vine—washed, dried, split, and then plied on calves. The Lao Khmu call it keau piad. They have been transforming this climbing vine to usable yarn for centuries. It is incredibly time consuming and takes great effort.

This kudzu yarn is not completely plied. It was intentional to make it suitable for hand weaving.

unit: one kudzu cake yarn
