Indigo Tortoise Shell Kimono

A perfect wardrobe staple, the classic kimono. This kimono is woven in the log cabin weave and the Lao call this weave a tortoise shell weave as it resembles the pattern of a tortoise shell. Wraps loosely around the body with an open closure. Features two large front pocket. Pair with your favorite jeans or a wide leg pants for an artistic feel.

Sizing: The Classic Kimono is hung on a size 8 dress form. Can fit up to to women’s XL (16-18) or men’s XL. Body length 31.5”; Body width 26.5'“

Fabric: Hand spun organic cotton dyed from natural indigo. Dyed and handwoven by the Tai Lue of Laos.

Care: We have pre-washed the fabric prior to sewing to soften the fabric. Because the fabric have been naturally dyed with indigo, there may be some bleeding from the next few washes- that’s ok because the dye is plant-based. We recommend hand wash only in lukewarm water (with a very small amount of mild detergent if necessary). Please do not hang in direct sunlight as that will cause excessive fading. Cool iron.
